ai can’t write good because it’s designed to write pleasantly average sentences with all the right words in the right order and imho good writing requires u to strategically deploy a word that is wrong and maybe even evil

Plot twist: 67 was a mathematically significant number long before it became a meme. Here’s what makes it cool: It is a prime number (can only be divided by itself and 1). But it’s not just ANY prime number. 🧵⬇️

Person on the bus listing kinds of math to their seatmate: “there’s calculus, geometry, trigonometry, … what’s the other one? Does anyone on this bus know the other kind of math?” No idea what answer was being looked for.

It's the following position: White wins in 584 moves. The winning move is unique. Interestingly, Stockfish 18 finds the correct move, but only gives +0.7

What a day for Partition Theory! 📈 A brilliant new paper by a cool team of researchers (one a former student) tackles the mystery of why Perfect Powers 4, 8, 9, 16, 25, 27, 32, 36, 49,… seem to "flee" from the partition function p(n). A beautiful new result explores this "repulsion". 🧵👇

@LTF_01 IMO part of the issue is that much of the value of some mental object comes from the process of creating it. Even if you successfully transmit the object you haven’t transmitted much of the value—other people have to recreate it almost from scratch to capture this.

Sometimes we just cannot blindly follow the principles of chess. Always double check! 🙂 In this position, black followed the "general" principle of trading down pieces when ahead of material. Therefore, he played Rae8. Good idea? What should white do? #ChessPunks #ChessTactic

How long does it take to get to 2000? In my case: 3 years, 17,987 blitz games which is approximately 1500 hours (62 full days of chess)
