I feel a deep sadness. So many of us worked very hard to get Trump back in office. We believed he would put America First and no new wars would be started. What we have seen this term is the opposite of what we voted for, understand it is not MAGA that has changed, it is Trump. Trump was a vessel to achieve the goal, he has failed the mission and it is time he leave the office.

There must be a thorough and impartial investigation into yesterday’s Minneapolis shooting, which is the basic standard that law enforcement and the American people expect following any officer-involved shooting. For this specific incident, that requires cooperation and transparency between federal, state, and local law enforcement. Any administration official who rushes to judgment and tries to shut down an investigation before it begins are doing an incredible disservice to the nation and to President Trump’s legacy.

I fully expect to be Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2027 after Republicans retain control of the U.S. Senate. Today, DHS law enforcement was conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault. During the operation, an individual approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. This violence is directly fueled by hateful rhetoric from Minnesota's sanctuary politicians. It must end now.

Endorsing a nepotistic aspiring dictator with preposterously ignorant stands on economic and international policies and who praises other authoritarians is clearly, *clearly* not the best way to promote meritocracy, peace, prosperity, and free expression. Look, reasonable people can have divergent opinions on the best ways to approach issues like regulations, economic policy, and social policies, *while* being respectful of democratic principles. But one simply cannot throw democracy and competent governance out the window just because one wants lower taxes and less regulation.

When I visited Minnesota, what the ICE agents wanted more than anything was to work with local law enforcement so that situations on the ground didn't get out of hand. The local leadership in Minnesota has so far refused to answer those requests.

To be clear, I think we should only waive the filibuster to pass an election integrity act into law, but not for any other reason. Election integrity must include visual ID that proves citizenship and in-person voting (except in extreme circumstances like troops overseas).
