The more human-like the model becomes, the more suspicious I become about its motivation. I don’t think I’m alone on this.

Spoke with a bunch of GTM engineers today, everyone is solving the same problem - connecting customer data into a single place so sales team can use it through Claude. Looking forward to the Anthropic CRM release.

Are you ready for the next anti-AI movement? "Robots make workers more productive" feels incorrect at scale. nypost.com/2026/06/21/us-…

@prime_cai Interesting take - how do you feel about the Omni model direction like Cosmos 3? Having the same data distribution for synthetic data, reasoning, and action generation feels like a win.

I’m more aggressive here. Building Robotics World Models with pixel/weak-latent DiTs as the main information tower is a dead end. You’re forcing the model to operate in an incredibly noisy, low-density modality. The fact that they require guidance just to output 'something that *might* look okay' is a massive red flag. It means we have to manually force mode collapse just to make them usable. If a model is equivalent to an LLM that only works at a 0.01 temperature, we haven't built a world model; we've built a fragile interpolator. The only reason some of these demos look 'fine' is that they operate in hyper-constrained, overfit settings, where mean-seeking diffusion in a noisy space is easy enough. My take on robotics so far is that we are trying to find something as generalizable and influential as LLMs, but not directly solvable with LLMs. So no, the aforementioned formulation won't get us there. Thankfully, I think the frontier labs have already realized this, so the industry isn't burning compute and time on a dead end. Essentially, we have never truly modeled p(X) in any of the SoTA image/video generation models, and the visual gains over the past year or two are certainly not because we got better at modeling p(X).

Video model research feels like there’s so much to explore, yet so little you can actually do when you’re compute-poor. After spending ~1 year on image/video pretraining in the past, latent diffusion has become increasingly awkward to me. You train a VAE with predetermined spatial/temporal compression, then hope a DiT can model that latent space well. But you bang your head onto the wall because you realize your reconstruction quality ≠ diffusibility. IMO, the training paradigm itself needs to change. I’m getting more and more skeptical that video-based world models become economically useful without a more efficient formulation. For robotics, video pretraining seems valuable, but do we really need to generate a long video that has a good visual quality? Prob not. Maybe predicting the next state as a single image (or latent state such as dreamer style) + actions will be enough to be usable as a layer for robotics.

@chris_j_paxton You mean the robots move slowly? Isn’t it due to slow inference time of the VLA? Looking across all of the vendors that use VLAs, this one doesn’t feel that much slower…

These robots seem to spend a lot of time idle... I hope they work out the kinks for day 2 because this is a really cool idea Or maybe factories are just like this

Humanoid robots from AGIBot working on a tablet inspection assembly line with 100% accuracy. This is very cool - but why use a humanoid when this can be done by a robotic arm for much cheaper?

@hosseeb Fun take on the token tax! I’ve been noticing a related, which is the AI native one-person (few people) agency. So perhaps there is another notch - individual plans vs. small company plans. Tax design is complicated 😅

Today, we're using the Daydream VST in @Ableton to fill out a WIP loop with melodic, atmospheric color. The workflow is simple: sequence a pattern you like, turn the seed and strength knobs until you find sounds you like, and then drag a few variations into the session view to see which one sits best with the rest of the song.

The goals is to do music generation with artistry. This is a good starting point!
Daydream@DaydreamLiveAI

Weekend idea: use the Daydream VST in @Ableton to rapidly generate drum/rhythm samples with the same style/key/bpm by trying different seeds in ACE-Step and then drag those loops into your session to figure out which one matches the rest of your composition.
