The Red Sox became a better baseball team today. Nick Sogard is a better player than Trevor Story. He’s also better than Isaiah Kiner-Falefa and Caleb Durbin. It’s unfortunate that the money owed to Story and IKF and Breslow’s emotional investment in Durbin have prevented the Sox from playing a better player, but that’s the way sports are.
