It's not too serious but my personal take on the whole thing as a mod for a pretty large stream is that Chat is part of the viewing experience and something like this can spoil the mood, especially since it's genuine keyboard spam instead of saying "GO" or anything

That's literally Conix's point though. The issue isn't people cheering. Nobody is saying chat should be silent when something insane happens. If Doggie gets 97% on Grief, obviously people are going to react. Your sports analogy actually supports the argument. A crowd cheering together creates atmosphere. Two people screaming through megaphones over everyone else destroys it. The problem is when chat stops being thousands of people reacting naturally and becomes hundreds of people copy-pasting the same thing over and over trying to be the loudest person in the room. At that point you're not adding to the moment, you're drowning it out. A historic achievement should make chat feel alive, not make it impossible to see genuine reactions because the screen is filled with the same message repeated 500 times. Nobody is against excitement. Nobody is against cheering. The whole point is that there's a difference between celebrating a moment and spamming so hard that the celebration itself becomes annoying. That's why Conix said the vibe was killed. Not because people were excited, but because a small group decided that being loud was more important than actually experiencing the moment.
