My life advice to you is to show up for the thing. I can’t count how many times I have wanted to cancel a meeting with friends because I was too tired, and then I ended up going anyway and having the time of my life. Human contact is better than screens. Show up for the thing.

Adult friendships require a lot of understanding. People go to work. People are busy. People are healing. People are growing. People are taking time for self care just like you. Do not mistake less communication for less love.

i’m so grateful for the times when i’m included, like when someone saves me a seat, invites me even if i can’t go, or asks me to join a group photo. these simple gestures mean a lot to me. it’s the little things that matter most. they don’t cost anything but mean everything
