@erosewinter@FunkyPedagogy@LauraLolder@team_english Revise methods not quotations! Then use < / > to remind them to compare a method being 'more' something than the other. Maybe use SQIMC (Statement, Quote, Inference, Method, Compare)? It's so hard sometimes isn't it! Waiting to see what sticks and doesn't. x
@FunkyPedagogy@LauraLolder@team_english@SecondaryEng my bottom set y11 I’ve picked up this year are struggling with the anthology poetry comparison. Any tricks 4 how to get them as many points as poss in the exam? Maybe focus on the given poem, then 1 para of comparison?
I have spent since Thursday reading hundreds of student responses to the language and literature papers. Above all, it has been a joy.

Our Yr 8s have a discrete 'Literacy' period per week & I am currently revamping the scheme. It's slow going but I'm finally getting somewhere with it. It's one of those jobs I'd given myself all year to complete, yet here we are in June & only getting to it now 🙈
Last term Y7-10 girls worked with the fantastic Jaspreet Kaur to find their voice through poetry. It was a beautiful, inspirational workshop giving students the opportunity to develop their confidence in writing & to understand the power of their voice. Thank you @behindthenetra!
@TrinityAcademyC This looks incredible and so rigorous. I wondered whether it would it would be okay to msg you further details about your lit strategy?

I've joined the Editorial Board of Creative Critical. We want to get more on the site that's of interest to secondary English teachers. I'll also be pointing up some of the material already there. Feel free to DM me if you want to submit something. creativecritical.net
Any reccs for Year 7 whole class novel to read during tutor time? Something age appropriate, engaging for young people & able to finish in a term would be wonderful. Thank you! @LiteracyEngine@FunkyPedagogy@Team_English1@BarbaraBleiman
Hello! Our year 9s have jst finished their short story SoL. Problem: their stories are v convoluted and not very convincing. Do you have any tips on how to teach writing simple, yet effective short stories? 🙏 @FunkyPedagogy@BarbaraBleiman@__codexterous@Team_English1
