Last night, we celebrated The 2022 Ouachita Tigers. As a chaplain, I have never been prouder of a team.
When Clark Yarbrough unexpectedly went home to Heaven early this season, the team was heartbroken. I was heartbroken.
The Sunday the team learned about Clark’s passing, we walked through Psalm 46 together. God is our refuge, our strength, and always with us. Loss in life always brings sadness, but it can also bring unity. The same obstacle, hurt, and adversity that Satan intends to destroy and divide, God can use to unite through love. Shared grief has a way of bringing people together when we look to Jesus. This team loved one another through heartache.
Clark’s life verse was James 4:10, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” It is engraved on the inside of each Championship Ring. What is true in life is also true about this ring, “it’s what’s on the inside that matters most.“
The Tigers went 11-0 and won The GAC. The guys set all kinds of records. The players and coaches should be very proud. But, it is not what happened on the field that I will remember most. I will remember their love for one another.
I’m not sure you can preach in a ring this big. I’m sure you shouldn't. But I might do it one day and tell the story of the 2022 Ouachita Tigers and Clark Yarbourgh. A team who reminded me once again, “It’s what’s on the inside that matters most.”
Proud Chaplain and Teammate.
Go Tigers. Finish Empty

Very sorry for your loss @KARK4News
Chris spent many years at KATV and will always be remembered as such a gentle, caring, hard working person.
Both so young with so much in front of them.

Hearts are heavy in the Little Rock TV news market. KARK’s Haven Hughes passed away after a collision Monday night. I’m also praying for the family of former @KATVNews Executive Producer Chris Scott, most recently FOX16 producer, who died today after battling an illness. #arnews
