वर्ष 2005 में मात्र 5% महिला और 6% बिहारी पुरुष में ज़रूरत से अधिक मोटापा हुआ करता था लेकिन 2020-21 आते आते महिलाओं में मोटापा 5% से बढ़कर 16% हो गया और पुरुषों में ये मोटापा 6% से बढ़कर 15% हो गया। मतलब पुरुषों की तुलना में बिहार की महिलाएँ अधिक तेज़ी से मोटापा की बीमारी से ग्रसित हो रही है। इसी दौरान बिहारी बच्चों में भी मोटापा बढ़ा है। 5 वर्ष से कम उम्र के बच्चों में मोटापा वर्ष 2005 तक न के बराबर हुआ करता था लेकिन आज पूरे बिहार के 2% बच्चे मोटापा की बीमारी से ग्रस्त हैं। और जहां मोटापा आता है वहाँ हायपर्टेन्शन पीछे पीछे आता है। वर्ष 2015 में बिहार में 8% महिला और 15% पुरुष हायपर्टेन्शन की बीमारी से ग्रसित थे जो कि वर्ष 2021 में महिला का अनुपात 8% से बढ़कर 16% हो गया लेकिन पुरुष का अनुपात 15% से मात्र 3% बढ़ा और मात्र 18% हुआ है। मधुमेह में भी अब बिहार की महिलाएँ बहुत ज़्यादा पीछे नहीं है। 13% महिला और 16% पुरुष मधुमेह की बीमारी से ग्रसित हैं।
