My sister down in Texas sent me a video from her favorite BBQ restaurant. She's in there acting like Texas invented ribs, and I'm just over here smiling, because she can laugh all she wants-but Indiana beef ribs are no joke. In 2021, 27-year-old Carli Bellmer accidentally swallowed one of her AirPods after mistaking it for an ibuprofen pill.
She realized what had happened almost immediately and tried to make herself vomit, but it didn’t work.
The AirPod was still connected to her phone, so when Carli sent a voice message to a friend, the audio was recorded from inside her stomach, capturing strange gurgling sounds.
An X-ray later confirmed the AirPod was moving through her body, and it eventually passed naturally.
Carli shared the story as a warning to others: always check what you’re swallowing.

During the 2022 Buffalo blizzard, Jay Withey went door to door asking for shelter. Ten times, he was turned away.
So he broke a window at Pine Hill School and led 24 stranded strangers inside, including seven elderly people whose cars had run out of fuel.
He found cereal in the cafeteria, gym mats for makeshift beds, and gave everyone a way to survive the night.
Before he left, he wrote a note: “I’m terribly sorry about the window. I had to save everyone. Merry Christmas, Jay.” Police later asked the public to help find him. Not so they could arrest him. So they could thank him.
