"We have been a band for 20 years. It wasn’t easy… fucking running 20 years. But I feel like time has flown by incredibly fast. And it feels like fucking fast. All right…
But you know, even though I have gone through so many downs and failures myself, I am standing here now, having crossed the borders of countries, cultures, and languages. And the fact that such a massive number of diverse people could come to love me—that is probably the best thing that has ever happened in my life, and it will stay in my heart forever. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful to my band members, my friends, and most of all, to all of you for bringing me here. Thank you so much.
On stage, we might actually look like supermen. But the moment we take one step off it, we are just ordinary people, no different from any of you. Even so, precisely because we have been given this kind of life, we have the opportunity to do what we must and are meant to do.
I have already made enough money. I don’t really care about material things anymore. That is exactly why, as long as this voice holds out and as long as I have the physical strength, I want to give all my soul, my screams, and our music to all of you who love us.
As you get older, you get more sentimental and teary-eyed. And I don't know if it's because of age... Or if it's about how rough, brutal, and thorny creating this album was for us. I can't really give you an exact answer right now, but at least...There’s one thing to know for sure: there is so much happiness in having created this album and getting to perform these songs for you. And even though these moments, where feelings get overwhelmed and eyes tear up, might feel a bit embarrassing to look back on—every single one of them will absolutely become a priceless treasure.
During this tour, we... well, I was constantly snapping at the staff. Honestly, I was just completely losing my shit at them in a completely one-sided way. I kept worrying: ‘Are our voices and our songs seriously not getting through?’ There were so many moments when I thought: ‘Why am I singing from this stage to all these people? What is the point of this message anyway?’ But every single time, we all pulled together, held on to each other, and that's how we made it to this very day.
Unfortunately, our shows in China fell through. It’s a huge disappointment. No matter how much this world tries to move things through politics, music is originally supposed to stand in a completely different place. That’s exactly what we were thinking when we made this album. But we will absolutely, definitely come back again to meet all of you in China.
Let me say just one last thing. The next song is going to be our last. No matter how many 'beautiful words' musicians say from the stage, the world won’t change because of it. The only ones who can change it are every single one of you. All we can do is stand at the front and broadcast our words, our stance, our songs, and our feelings through a microphone. We can't do anything beyond that.
Please don't forget this. Every single one of you will play an incredibly important role in this world in the future. Whether it’s through music, your work, your loved ones, your family, or your friends—please keep on proving that.
In this chaotic world—and in the even more chaotic future waiting for us, a world where what used to be right suddenly becomes a mistake, and what was the truth is pushed aside or stays wrong forever—in a world like this, please, make sure to find the meaning of life for each of you.
And if you ever run out of courage or hope, we will always be waiting for you right here on this stage, and we’ll keep shouting for you.
Thank you so much for today!
We are ONE OK ROCK!
See you again!"
