@BrandonEffDub @eshadlow It’s an awesome sport. Unfortunately the time difference makes watching games pretty tough but still fun to follow. And I was there during the Aussie summer so I got more exposure to cricket, but still ended up learning a fair amount of AFL.

@HawkTalkPod Same here - paid for me and the kids on top of our memberships. So frustrating as a member, I am glad this is getting some attention.

I paid $84 for myself and my family to attend the footy last night because I was led to believe that I had to. I was led to believe that membership entitlements would not be enough to guarantee entry. Of course that was absolutely false. FULL STORY: theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/afl-…

"Due to exceedingly high demand, the Essendon Football Club in association with the AFL and MCC have declared Hawthorn's Round 1 blockbuster against Essendon on Friday 13 March as fully ticketed." This announcement made back on March 2nd (!!!) got me thinking, "Oh crap I'd better not chance it and secure tickets for myself and my family." And so I bought tickets, despite membership entitlements. Of course there was no danger of missing out. What a grift.
