Yes I’ll admit That post about Caesarian section triggered me Because I’m a woman who was in labour for 40 hours I was given the maximum dose of oxytocin three times to induce labour and did not dilate beyond 2cm I was so mentally prepared to push out a human but my body just wouldn’t Which one should I talk about? The intense pain ripping through me every few minutes? Should I talk about how excruciating it is to have doctors check you for dilation while you’re actively in labour? Should I talk about the exhaustion? Should I talk about how that when those who have vaginal delivery have long forgotten CS moms are still grappling with wounds and pain and numbness and tingling from the anaesthetsia? I had my baby in Canada and the nurses kept asking me if I wanted a pain relief I did not want any drug to interfere I was ready to bear the pain and I did I think I have the most supportive husband in the world. He stood there every second with me. Holding my hand. Wincing as Pain coursed through me But he did not feel the pain. Not the physical one. I did. So has every woman who has gone through this When the doctors saw that my contractions were not the “good type”, they said I could get a uterine rupture, I had to be taken for a CS. And everyday I’m grateful to God for the miracle of a CS That a mother who has given her all can still have her baby and they both be fine So sir, when you have had contractions for 40 hours When you have had 7 layers of your body sliced open so you can bring forth children When you have gone months nursing a wound that is layers deep When you’ve been placed on a cold surgical table and cut 7 layers deep For some 4 times. Then come back and have this Conversation with me Thank God for your mother and the long line of women in your family that had vaginal deliveries. But no two women are the same. Don’t put that burden on the woman you would marry. A CS is not a shortcut A CS does not make a woman weak A CS does not happen because you did not pray enough or you’re unlucky A CS is a medical miracle so that women like me especially pre term moms, can come out alive from the mystery that is pregnancy and childbirth Blessings.

I was 21. NYSC posting: a village clinic in Osun. No light. No water. Just me, a matron in her 60s, and women who walked 3 hours for antenatal. Day 1, a 16 year old girl came in bleeding and pregnant. Her 40-year old husband said, “It’s normal. First baby always hard.” Matron took one look at me and said, “Corper, you go learn today.” We had no ultrasound or blood bank. Just gloves, faith, and a torchlight I held with my mouth while Matron’s hands disappeared inside that child. For 6 hours we fought. The girl was slipping. Matron prayed in Igala and English. I cried, thinking, “This is why I wanted to japa.” 😂 Then the baby’s cry came; a small, angry boy, alive. The 14-year-old whispered, “Aunty, thank you for not running.” 😭 Covered in blood and sweat, Matron said: “You think this work na for money? This work na for the girls who don’t know their own worth yet. You stay. You fight. You stubborn. Because if we no stubborn, who go be stubborn for them?” That was 5 years ago. Today I’m a doctor in Lagos with a clinic in Abule Egba. Every girl who comes in with “normal period pain” that’s been killing her for years reminds me of that torchlight and Matron’s hands. I get stubborn. I’ve diagnosed 47 cases of advanced PID this year, done 12 fibroid surgeries, and caught 3 girls early before their wombs got damaged. Ladies, my message is simple: 1. “Normal” pain that stops your school, work, or life? It’s NOT normal. 2. Your body is not “village people.” It’s biology. Test it. Scan it. Know it. 3. Be stubborn about your health. The world will call you dramatic. Be dramatic and alive. That matron died 2 years ago, but her stubbornness lives in every girl I refuse to let die quietly.

AgunNwa today visited Ozoro community in Delta State to ask questions about the s£xuål haråssm£nt reported in the area days ago, as a market woman confrønted her, saying: “They made the announcement three times that women should stay indoors.” According to her, several residents around the area refused to speak on camera when she tried to ask about the recently concluded festival, as they were afraid. However, she was able to gather some information from an indigene, who claimed it was a one-day festival mainly for married women seeking children, adding that after the r!tûål they would be able to conceive. He also alleged that young single girls were warned not to come out after 4pm. She later proceeded to the market square, where some women confrønted her again, insisting: “They announced three times that no women should come out. You should leave.”

“Did you come to inform me or the President? I have more than 200 videos and photos of what happened in Ozoro. Many government officials and kings have been calling me to know what exactly is happening in my community. I have been a king for more than 20 years now, I have never heard of girls being åbvsed and har@-ssed in my community all in the name of a festival.” — The Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Barr. In 2026, people’s mothers, people’s sisters, are living in terror because of a supposed “culture” This is beyond sad! And we cannot continue to live like this.
