Terrible news that it’s closing! Mike’s thread captures my feelings. My work @esrcmelb as an undergrad profoundly influenced my attitudes towards pursuing research for the public good and maintaining the longevity and usability of data (knowledge) beyond a project’s lifetime.

I was employed at the ESRC & worked with them since on some absolutely fascinating historical projects. It's sad and disappointing to see the University of Melbourne wind it up, but we can definitely be proud of its many achievements! Big 👏 to all esp to @ausnarkie!

@MikeJonesPhD @esrcmelb @unimelb I did some work many years ago for ASAP and have had various involvements from a distance with the Esrc over the years. It was a great place with important projects. I agree with your points Mike. Hopefully the legacy will be protected.
