
And this is the part of the podcast that annoyed me the most. She mentioned that women should be with men who can afford them with the best possible healthcare during pregnancy, and they all chorused, “Can’t she afford it herself?” How shameless can they be? Pregnancy is one of the most physically vulnerable stages of a woman’s life, and even at that point, you still want her fending for herself amongst other things? You can come with “it’s her life on the line, she shouldn’t rely on anybody.” Okay, so what exactly is your usefulness? I will always champion women choosing kind men who can fully support them through pregnancy and the postnatal period. I’m tired of seeing vulnerable women who weren’t lazy but had to soft pedal due to their situation suffer through that stage.
