@NIFLGrounds Ticket prices should not have been increased. The casual fans or family who may have attended last year's final would be even more out of pocket with this year's ticket increase and the overall cost of living increases putting them off it.

Let's call a spade a spade, This Final Disappointed and Underachieved. Var, Mothersday , Sunday Football & ticket prices put off thousands of fans from attending in person & watching at home. This final should have broken all NIFL records but never stood a chance.
NI Football League@OfficialNIFL

Landmark day for the NI Football League. ✅ 12,297 fans in attendance ✅ First use of VAR ✅ Three broadcasters ✅ Record extending win for @OfficialBlues 📰 nifootballleague.com/news/2026/marc…

@chippie1974 As a neutral when it comes to the Premier Division bar Tallaght it is getting very difficult to get tickets for games in Dublin, great problem to have but you worry about the younger generation all having to support Rovers

Monday didn't seem to affect 3 of the games crowds wise but Galway and Dundalk with their lowest crowds of the season. Premier crowds still largely steady after years of growth, but where demand is, capacity isn't so hard to grow much more right now.

@KickingMatch Thought the overall quality of the game was very disappointing, neither team willing to keep the ball on the ground, option 1 was always the long ball and long throw in. Why do you think the crowd has fallen off over the last 2 years? 16k last year down to 12k today

A sixty-year old man has just been transported back more than half a lifetime ago (36 years to be exact). An old photo from a @FinnHarpsFC v @CobhRamblersFC game in January 1990 sees me jumping over a Roy Keane challenge. Harps won 1-0, thanks to a Barry Patton goal. #nostalgia

@fezfhfc @on_harpin Left Athlone feeling very disappointed last night, I thought both teams were very poor. We were very bad down the left with both Zerrouk and Bernardo very nervous on the ball and in Zerra’s case getting pulled into the middle too often.

@Kieran_B_Sport Why? That is the market value unless Sligo turned down a bigger offer from another club(which I doubt) Also we are also not aware of what the add ons are. I do worry that LOI clubs are gambling on add-ons v up front fees a little too often.

@OfficialBlues It’s about striking a balance of increased IL coverage & being fair on fans. Also Can you please have a meeting with @IrishFA, other Irish League clubs @OfficialNIFL & @BBCSPORTNI to ban the phrase “local football / local game” from any discussion on Irish League.

Linfield FC
Linfield FC@OfficialBlues·
Linfield Football Club has noted the statements issued by various supporters clubs calling for a boycott of our forthcoming Irish Cup tie against Limavady United due to concerns about the regular rescheduling of our games to facilitate television coverage. Whilst this club has never endorsed the boycotting of games, we recognise the genuine concerns raised by our supporters clubs and can fully understand the stance they are taking in this instance. Club officials have met with both NIFL and the BBC this season to express our serious concerns about the lack of balance in the selection of games for screening and to highlight the disruption this causes to our supporters and, in particular, to our supporters clubs. We have also raised concerns about the distribution of income from the BBC television deal and the fact that this is not targeted specifically at the clubs who are featured. Over the coming weeks we intend to discuss our concerns with the other Premiership clubs and with NIFL to seek changes to the broadcasting contract for next season and to ensure a fairer balance in the selection of games across all Premiership clubs. Supporters are the lifeblood of the local game and they should not be taken for granted in this drive to broaden coverage of the local game.
