@thelumbley Yeah, granting mutate to things causes the Multiverse to collapse. Or that's what the rules manager said to me, anyway.

@EthanFleischer But but we could of had. "Non-human creatures in each players hand have Mutate with a mutate cost equal to its mana cost." It would of been wonderful for my clone deck... also if I mutate a clone and have it ETB as a copy of the creature it mutated onto it would have been grate

@EthanFleischer Oh, cool, but sadly the link to the Rasputin lore is broken. Building original Rasputin now and would love to be able to read some lore :) But all these legends are great, and these 20 are definitely my most beloved cards from 2022. Thanks for this very interesting thread Ethan!

@Juuuuuuuno Portal Three Kingdoms doesn't take place on a plane of Magic's Multiverse. It's more akin to a Universes Beyond thing, set in the historical novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

I'm very happy that we were able to bring Planechase back, both to make new planes for existing Planchasers, and to introduce more players to this fun mode of multiplayer Magic. I hope you enjoy it! 37/37

The reprinted planes and phenomena were chosen almost entirely for how fun they were and their synergies with the decks' themes. Our only concession to flavor was to include the face commanders' home planes in their decks at least once. 36/X
