Pretty cool day getting to celebrate with a group of All-Stars representing the South Hill Country. So proud of the Kerrville Tivy High School coaching staff and this group of young men that came together over the last week to strap on those pads one more time and represent our Hill Country communities the right way. What an honor it was for the Tivy coaching staff to pour into these athletes all week and watch them compete with toughness, pride, and passion one final time. These young men represented their schools, families, and communities with class from start to finish. Day 1 and 2 of OTAs have been off to a great start! Development, learning, battles, and grind are all part of the process. Having the TOUGHNESS, willingness to FINISH, making NO EXCUSES and being DISCIPLINED help shape that process! #TFND

Tivy gets out of the first inning down 7-0. Pieper had five hits and the Antlers had an error in what was a challenging opening frame for Tivy.

Pieper has strung together some hits and taken an early 3-0 lead over Tivy with two outs in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Will Russ is entering in relief for the Antlers.

I’m out at North East Sports Park in San Antonio as Tivy baseball (17-13, 10-6) will take on Pieper (16-11-1, 10-6) at 7 p.m. in a play-in for the final playoff spot in District 26-5A. I’ll have updates throughout the game and a story to follow with the Kerrville Daily Times!
