Day 1: @AnthropicAI partners with Australian Government on AI safety
Day 2: AI sector hits $88.9B in funding — Anthropic leading the charge
Day 3: Anthropic changes API pricing → devs scrambling to fix cache usage
Day 4: Anthropic kicks OpenClaw out. Even paid users.
Here's what nobody's saying out loud:
Anthropic went from "we care about safety" to "we own the ecosystem" in 72 hours
They're not just building the best model anymore
They're deciding who gets to USE it
The pattern is wild:
→ lock in government partnerships
→ dominate funding rounds
→ change pricing whenever
→ remove third-party tools you don't like
This is the part where someone usually says "but they're a private company they can do what they want"
Yeah. And that's exactly the problem.
What happens when the safest AI company becomes the most controlling one?

We've signed an MOU with the Australian Government to collaborate on AI safety research and support Australia's National AI Plan. Read more: anthropic.com/news/australia…

China just deployed 10,000 driverless delivery vehicles
$1.38 for anything within 30 kilometers
You scan a QR code on the robot
grab your package
done
Meanwhile we're still arguing about whether AI is safe enough to write emails
They're literally shipping physical goods with zero humans involved
At scale

✨🇨🇳China has deployed more than 10,000 driverless delivery vehicles across the country. Deliveries within a 30‑kilometer radius cost only 9.9 RMB (approximately $1.38), and customers can collect their packages simply by scanning the QR code on the vehicle.

Everyone's asking "what's better than Claude?"
Wrong question
The real question: what happens when you try to leave?
Someone just switched to GPT 5.4 → lost system context, credentials, tool awareness
Reverted immediately
@claudeai isn't just good at coding
It's the ONLY model that remembers how your entire setup works
You're not locked in because it's the best
You're locked in because everything else forgets who you are
That's not a moat
That's a different product category

Me: "I'll just add one more skill to @claudeai
6 years later: 18 skills, 4 sub-agents, 3 different LSPs, and I have no idea what's running anymore
Here's the thing nobody talks about
The more you automate with AI the more you need to automate managing the AI
This dev has Jira + Notion + Microsoft 365 all hooked up and can't tell which agent is doing what
We went from "AI will simplify everything" to "I need an agent to manage my agents"
Actually wild
