i showed my parents phm and my dad said “oh ryan gosling? he was never that good an actor” and at the time i didn’t know enough to say otherwise but now??? i’ve only seen 5 of his movies but he was a great actor in every one

i can only imagine my dad sees the sort of quiet type characters he does (lars, henry, driver) as bad acting instead of part of the character’s personality. although he def hasn’t seen lars or stay so idk. drive is his type of movie tho

i think the reason lars and the real girl speaks to me so much is bc i see so much of myself in lars and seeing that he had an entire town that cared for him that much made me a lil teary eyed
