There are a handful of players who are expected to be lottery picks in the 2026 NBA Draft that may return to college due to current NIL valuations. Players like Cam Boozer are currently in negotiations with NCAA teams to return to college for one more year for deals worth $30M+.

If Mike Malone's decision to hire Chuck Martin is any indication of how he's going to operate, then @UNC_Basketball fans should feel very optimistic. Martin is a true vet, respected in all corners, and will bring a lot to the job. I also like that Malone doesn't feel hamstrung by feeling he has to make every hire a former UNC player or coach. Jon Scheyer has been very smart in this regard as well. Hire the best person for the job, full stop, and it's hard to imagine anyone better than Martin on day one.

The Miami Hurricanes have been in contact with UNC freshman guard Isaiah Dennis. Isaiah had very limited minutes this season and averaged ⬇️ 1.9 PPG, 0.6 REB, 50% FG Chances of him returning are low.

Here’s where I am right now (and it is subject to change). If someone told me we were about to hire an NBA champion coach, who a former UNC player (who played for him) reportedly described as a brilliant X’s and O’s guy, I’d be pretty happy. I’m still mad we fired HD too though.
