To name a few. An operation formally sanctioned by Trump's own Treasury Department on September 10, 2020, and expanded to include more named actors on January 11, 2021. Oh, and don't forget the Russian-linked FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who later pleaded guilty to making the entire Burisma bribery story up. That has changed. The Guardian's report is very close to our hypothetical scenario. It's based on three anonymous sources, who told the Guardian that senior Reform figures wanted Farage to lead the party and stand as MP, but he said he'd need £5 million to do it.

In May we said Nigel Farage probably didn't owe tax on his £5m gift. The Guardian now reports the gift followed talks where Farage said he'd need £5m to return to frontline politics. *If* that's right, we think there's a high risk of a £3m tax bill - payable by Reform.

Argentina should have them: 1. Becauae of geographical proximity and reality. 2. Because Britain seized them by force in 1833. 3. Because it is ridiculous that Britain still has colonies thousands of miles away in this day and age. 4. Because Argentina is relatively poor and resources there could boost its economy.

A history lesson about Las Malvinas for all the trolls: Britain first occupied the islands in 1765 but were kicked out by the Spanish a few years later. Then in 1833 it took the islands by military force from Argentina which had inherited Spain’s claim after independence a few decades earlier and had established authority on the islands. Given their geographical proximity to Argentina this was not surprising. How do you think Britain would feel if a foreign nation 8,000 miles away took the Isle of Wight by military force and established settlers on it? Britain argues that the settlers it established on Las Malvinas want to stay British. But frankly why should their opinion count when they are living on occupied land? The honourable thing to do would be to just give the islands back to the Argentinians. But I really can't remember the last time Britain did the honourable thing.

The sentences handed to four young activists for taking direct action at an Israeli arms factory are completely disproportionate and wrong. They've been sentenced for a "terrorist connection" they were never charged with. A clear miscarriage of justice and dangerous precedent.
