Dear @UNICEF, Indonesian children should never be used to advance any political agenda or government campaign. Indonesia's Child Protection Law emphasizes that every child has the right to be protected from exploitation, violence, discrimination, and any activity that may jeopardize their best interests. Involving elementary school children in public rallies, asking them to carry campaign-style signs or chant political slogans raises serious concerns about whether their rights are being respected. Children can’t meaningfully consent to political participation. Schools should remain safe spaces for learning—not places where students are mobilized to endorse government policies. We urge independent monitoring to ensure that children's rights are fully protected and that no child is used as a tool for political messaging.

Please @UNICEF , @UNICEFIndonesia , @kpp_pa and @KPAI_official , protect Indonesian children!! Children are the future of our nation. They should never become shields for those in power, tools of propaganda, or symbols used to build support for any government policy. Indonesia's Child Protection Law (Law No. 35 of 2014), Article 15, clearly states that every child has the right to be protected from abuse and exploitation in political activities. This principle exists because children deserve to grow up free from political manipulation and exploitation. When elementary school children are brought to public demonstrations, asked to carry signs, chant slogans, or serve as symbols of support for a government program, we must ask a simple but important question: Who is truly being protected the children, or political interests? Children are not born to carry the burden of adult politics. They are born to learn, to play, to dream, and to grow. They are not mature enough to fully understand political issues or to give informed consent to participate in activities with political implications. That is precisely why the law exists—to protect them from being used to advance the interests of others. If a government program is truly beneficial, its success should speak for itself. Public trust should be built through transparency, accountability, and measurable results—not by placing children at the center of political messaging. Children's voices should never be used as loudspeakers for political agendas. Their small hands should be holding books, not protest signs. We respectfully urge @UNICEF and @kpp_pa to take this matter seriously. We call for an independent investigation into the reported involvement of children in political demonstrations and for appropriate action to ensure that every child's rights are protected in accordance with Indonesia's Child Protection Law. Protect Indonesian children. Because when childhood is exploited, it is not only a child who is harmed—it is the future of an entire nation.
