Yesterday in Colorado people were making 3 point turns in front of oncoming cars, and parking in the road.

It is I, driver of the white subaru that went past on the left. Even excluding this particularly egregious incident, I have witnessed some pretty appalling behavior from chasers the past couple days. Every year it seems to get worse.

Not long after that video was taken, several people (including that driver) became stuck on the waterlogged mud roads and needed to be pushed out.

New data pod finalized model coming along nicely...

New data pod project officially underway. Going with a very similar design to the preliminary concept. Will feature a machined HDPE chassis as well as 8 modular armor panels that can be outfitted with additional sensors. Initial deployment will have cameras in 1-2 of the panels.

The Trump administration is in the process of dismantling the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. The move has generated enormous alarm in the scientific community, particularly among climate scientists and meteorologists. NCAR is one of the world's leading research institutions that helps us better understand the weather. Its computer modeling helps us predict natural disasters like storms and floods, and helps track air pollution and ocean currents. Researchers there have also been responsible for unique scientific discoveries. @WmBrangham reports.

NCAR hosts >WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting Model > CESM (Community Earth System Model): Simulates climate, including atmosphere, ocean, land, and ice interactions which include MJO and ENSO modeling > MPAS CAMs > Observational campaigns: Field programs like VORTEX projects for tornado research, or DC3 for convection studies. And ICECHIP which was the hail study this year that most storm chasers are familiar with Eroding our edge of being the greatest weather forecasting enterprise in the world bit by bit for no particular reason, because “studying the climate” scares people, imagining what’s to come for our agriculture industry or NATSEC by degrading these agencies operational capabilities.

At this rate, scientific advancement and progress may soon no longer have a place in the nation.

No tornado today, but got a decent supercell that made several attempts at producing one. Got data with PEAK-1 as well. Unfortunately, the inner machinations of Windows 10 managed to obliterate all of my high resolution pictures during offloading, so video screenshots it is!
