Is this a hot take? Writing a comic book requires more effort than it takes to draw one. As a writer, you need to be aware how much work the artists are going to put into bringing your script to life. As well, you need to be aware how much time money and effort a reader is going to put into consuming it. Don’t put the success or failure of your comic onto your artist. Take responsibility. Put in the work. Your readers will thank you for it.

I didn’t have a heart attack. But… Saturday afternoon started feeling a burning in my chest left upper quadrant, spread to my arms and back, tightness in my chest like someone was squeezing it. Intense soreness and hard to lay on my side without a lot of pain. Sunday morning it wasn’t better and ibuprofen didn’t really help. Mentioned to my wife I might stop by the ER and have them check me out. Spent most of the day watching playoff football and getting my heart tested. Nothing conclusive so I have to do follow ups. Niners won!

The pain is so very painful. 32-29. Our ball. It was right there. I really thought it was gonna happen. Damn. Credit to the Chiefs and especially their coaches. They were phenomenal, especially on that last drive. Grew up in a family full of Cowboys and Bulls fans. Would always watch these heartbreaking Bills and Knicks losses alone. It sucked. Last night, I got to watch with my three kids who are as invested as I am. What a gift. That’s what it’s all about for me. Not sure I’ll ever see a championship, but maybe when I’m gone and one of the teams I forced them to root for wins they’ll remember these moments, think of their dad and it’ll mean that much more. I dunno. None of it makes sense. It’s sports. It’s hard to explain the heartbreak other than something that makes you so happy has to hurt this much when it doesn’t go your way. Love the Bills. Adore Josh. We aren’t a playoff team without him. We will be back. (I hope.) One day. 🦬
