@Deere_Salesman Don’t care because (nearly) anyone could get a loan for a fancy truck. Having a good truck doesn’t tell me if they are financially stable or irresponsible.

If you do care, explain to me why.

Does anyone actually care if the people you buy equipment, inputs, etc from drive Denali, Platinum, etc pickups?

@clintwfischer Can’t start an acerage from farmland in my county unless you own more than 10 acres which will set you back $150k and that won’t have utilities.

Acreage prices stay sky-high in our area. This building site just sold today for... $144,000 • 3.4 acres • electricity • rural water • no shelterbelt • 1 mile off oil road • 9 miles from mid-sized town

@PetersenFarms I honestly don’t know what a real answer to something like this is. You can’t “force” notill or covers on farmers yet. And you can’t just pick on one area either. It would have to be state or county wide.

Well #AgTwitter , what shall we do? How will we discuss this as the general public becomes more aware of practices? I think the days of placing the blame on Mother Nature for all of the detriments that happen while farming without regard for ethics/environment are numbered.

I buy these tag markers every year. I know this marker was bought in Jan or Feb of 2021. We calved out and always have Feb 20th-May 1st. Probably 80 percent of our calf tags are faded as of now and can barley read them. We have some neighbors with the same problem.

@PlsntVlyFarmer We upgraded from an 88 a few years ago... to an 880. Before this is was a 77 with a Kelly Ryan.

Dad fed with a 1950 88 Oliver from 1969-1996, when he traded off his mixer with self contained hydraulics and needed hydraulics... and this 1965 4020 took its place. I thought the 88 was impossibly old in 1996... it was 46 years old. The 4020 is now 55 years old....
