@willharvy The lowest Gen 1 VIN leased to a customer was 037, so that one would have been used as a test vehicle/demo.

@evchels it’s taken me a while to get back to this one, it was hard to track once my employment with GM ended. But I finally got the VIN for this EV1 which spent a good decade+ in Holden HQ. It’s now in the National Motor Museum in Adelaide. Any idea who used to drive this one?

4/ Think electric vehicles are new? Presidents McKinley, Roosevelt and Taft rode around at various times in them. Here's Taft's 1912 Baker Electric

Ok here is what I’ve been hinting at for the last week, I have in my possession all of the literature from a GM EV1 event, it is all from a trusted source and none of this is reproduction. This is gonna be a long thread 1/ #GM #GMEV1 #EV1

I *love* this quote from Pontevedra's mayor, Miguel Anxo Fernandez Lores: "It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me, it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them."
Brent Toderian@BrentToderian

This Spanish city centre has been car-free for 20+years. 12k people have moved into the centre since the ban. The Mayor says vehicles don’t have more right to public space than people — & he’s been re-elected 4 times since banning cars. Pontevedra via @WEF

So very, very many industrial projects are hindered by this bottleneck. In many cases, @energy Loan Programs Office can provide low cost financing to expand transformer manufacturing. Come call our bluff. Please.

Centers the most convenient and affordable charging while removing guesswork and range anxiety for new EV drivers. Love this. More should follow.
Jim Farley@jimfarley98

Auto shoppers say they're more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they could fill up at home. So we’re going to make it easy for our customers. If you buy or lease a new @Ford electric vehicle, we’ll include a complimentary home charger. This is part of something we’re calling the Ford Power Promise, which is about giving our electric vehicle customers convenience, peace of mind and expert service. I explain more about the #FordPowerPromise here:

More people are getting killed by drivers than any time since 1980, if anything we should be lowering speed limits (and actually enforcing traffic laws)

@brandenflasch It’s 2024, vehicles are safer than ever. We need to normalize higher speeds across the nations freeway system. Speed limit should be 85 everywhere on the interstate imo

@rohanspatel @danahull @farzyness @wholemars CARB’s forthcoming requirement of 50 miles min EV range for PHEVs to get credit also means we’re not talking about bare minimum PHEVs anymore, but cars that electrify the vast majority of annual miles and more likely to be tried by folks who won’t jump to full BEV at first.

No. I’ve taken down this argument before - it’s wrong but ubiquitous because some very big accounts like @farzyness and @wholemars have posted about it often. 1. There is only one PHEV qualifying for the full $7500 point of sale credit. The Pacifica - hardly anyone buys that car. Kia just spoke about this point and the fact that they won’t even attempt to get the $7500 because the sourcing requirements are too tough… 2. Battery materials and battery cells have a generous manufacturing tax credit. By far the biggest beneficiary of 1/2 above is Tesla and there isn’t a close 2nd place. The IRA is helping Tesla far more than any other company, because of the very smart American manufacturing investments and strategy from Elon/Tesla.
Bots For Everyone@BotsForEveryone

@rohanspatel It is not that straight forward. The so called IRA allows for PHEVs to receive subsidies, which allows legacy automakers a lifeline. This slows the transition giving the "green conscious" consumer the false belief that a PHEV purchase is positive for the environment.

NEWS: Washington State has launched a new EV rebate program to help low-income residents lease or purchase EVs. Eligible buyers can get up to $9,000 off a new 36 month EV lease, or $5,000 off a direct purchase. This is in addition to the $7,500 Federal EV credit. Rebate Amounts New EVs: • Purchase or 2-year lease: $5,000 • 3+year lease: $9,000 Used EVs: • Purchase or 2-year lease: $2,500 • 3+year lease: $2,500 People earning 300% or below of the federal poverty level are eligible for the program’s incentives.
