This world cup taught me many things: 1. America is very rich. Like, where do they get their money? Before the competition, there was propaganda that the high ticket prices would make empty stadiums. The opposite happened. Even smaller games were filled to the brim. 2. Before it started, a lot of people were worried that expanding the tournament to 48 teams would make the group stage boring. It did the exact opposite. Smaller nations proved they belonged on the big stage: Cape Verde shocked everyone by making the knockouts and pushing Argentina to a 3-2 extra-time thriller, while Congo gave England a serious run for their money. 3. The US knows how to put on a show, and their world-class NFL stadiums (like SoFi, Atlanta, and MetLife) were incredible backdrops. 4. We also see the entertainment culture of the USA. Instead of just a quick 15-minute break to grab a snack, American organizers turned halftime into mini-concerts with massive light shows, music, and field entertainment to keep the crowd hyped.

My journey to mass this morning was very funny. It was raining, the roads were terrible, and I had to say mass in a convent. Another priest rode the motorcycle 🏍️ while I sat behind. On our way, we encountered a slippery slope. We fell on poto-poto 😂😂. Bro fell under the bike. Me na sharp guy, I flew out. Of course we were muddy, but I was muddier. My brother priest asked me if we should return back home. I said "nah, we left for this mass, we shall go there." I started walking ahead, while he lifted the bike and rolled it behind us. After sometime, we were separated, I lost my way. Chim oh. Luckily I saw a young girl (6 years old) and she took me through dirty and flooded waters to a wrong compound at first, then we got to our destination. I told fhe little girl to please "venir chez les prêtres" (come to the Priests' house in the afternoon) so that I can give her a gift. The sisters felt bad for what happened to us and were told us plenty sorry. I was laughing all through and everyone joined me in laughing. I dunno what happened, but there was joy in my heart and nothing seemed able to take it away. Now I'm all dried up and doing okay. Once it's 2pm, I'll go towards that same route to look for the little girl who helped me this morning. I really have a gift for her 🙏🏾.
