@marsakhtsi @Sebbywebz 3/3 Every game can have certain rules or mechanics that leans into realtime or whatever elements. But in an action system, you can have to act freely in every moment. Which is why the loop, the enemy AI, camera and stuff like that works very different. That’s all what matters.

@Sebbywebz @marsakhtsi It should actually be clear by the term itself. TB means it uses turns as basic mechanic. It doesn't say anything about the mechanics the system is using around it. I consider FF1-3 or Pokemon as "classic". And in that sense ATB (4-9), CTB (10/E33), CSB (FF13) a just variations.

That won’t be enough. They’ll say ATB is not Turn-Based. They’ll say it’s “developed from a turn system” It doesn’t matter tho. To the average gamer, ATB & Turn-Based are basically the same It’s like arguing that “Centered 3rd Person View” is a completely different genre from “Over-The-Shoulder 3rd Person View” If someone says that, their opinion isn’t worth taking seriously

New numbers are in and they are brutal. 136 axed at id Software, programmers and QA decimated. This is her first big mistake at Xbox. I'm in favor of her other moves so far, her direct X involvement, her staffing cuts and studio closers. This one is a miss, probably related to her lack of gaming experience. @TinCanary @Sebbywebz This picture is very old. "Squaresoft" doesn't exist anymore and Lucas it out of business for a long time. What happened was, they decided not to do it. Square started FF11 and Lucas did Star Wars Galaxies. But these three together is still a cool picture.
