@evitabway yeahh i see that for sure, i do get that it’s innacurate to the book, unfortunately im a big spectacle guy so thats why i fell in love with it sm (and also there’s good bits in it i swear) but i can def see why its disappointing to see such a good idea die

@newsiespilled the version on bway completely disregarded getting permissions from the f scott fitzgerald estate bc of copyright laws and made a less than true to the novel adaptation, but because it was a bigger “spectacle” that’s the one we got on broadway :/ + the florence version died off

@newsiespilled there was another gastby musical in development at the same time as the one on bway that ACTUALLY got permission from the F Scott Fitzgerald estate for their adaptation, music by florence welch of florence and the machine, super grungey and beautiful

@cannilvst @FALL3NALIEN most of the time if a man has done the same thing people praise him or think he’s “cool.” ex. tobey maguire and his treatment of paparazzi being “iconic” vs chappell’s treatment of paparazzi being “annoying and entitled”

@cannilvst @FALL3NALIEN it’s easy to get caught up in smear campaigns when the internet is very intentionally trying to bring down queer people+women. same thing happened w rachel zegler. my rule of thumb is to take a step back and think about how the media would perceive their actions if they were men

@cannilvst @FALL3NALIEN ++ in a private setting or with her family / friends who she constantly says do not want to be put online. she became famous very unexpectedly and very fast, its extremely normal to set boundaries like this with fans. people just look for anything to drag her down for

@cannilvst @FALL3NALIEN we definitely live on opposite sides of the internet bc i’ve seen multiple people who have met her and had nothing but good things to say 😭 a lot of these “fans” who have had negative experiences are approaching her when she very obviously is wanting to be left alone ++
