Washingtonian magazine is hosting an event tonight to celebrate women in our community, but the company needs to take a look at the women on its own staff. @merrillwilliams

After over 2 years of pushing for a $55K pay floor, we were shocked when @merrillwilliams & @washingtonian management finally came back with a proposal of $40K. Their proposal remains far below adequate income levels for the DC area & below the pay floor of other media outlets.

From 1954 to 1987, a psychologist influenced by Nazi ideology oversaw a facility intended to deal with “difficult” children. At least 3,600 patients, most of them between the ages of seven and 15, were confined for up to several months at a time. nyer.cm/hxBz8Bt

We sent our CEO @merrillwilliams a small card with some important 2023 resolutions, among them: • A pay floor for all employees (we've proposed $55K) • Annual cost-of-living raises • Better, equitable parental leave • A commitment to diversity—both in hiring and retention
