Washingtonian magazine loves to boast that it’s woman-owned. Yet not even half of the women in our union make what’s considered a modest yet livable income for DC. It’s International Women’s Month, and we are demanding better!

Washingtonian CEO @merrillwilliams thinks $42,500 is an acceptable salary at her magazine. You can make more as a dishwasher. (Much respect to dishwashers though!)

Washingtonian wants you to see photos from its fancy journalism parties. It doesn’t want you to see how it underpays its own journalists.

Last night, @washingtonian hosted a swanky party celebrating journalists at the Four Seasons. Meanwhile, CEO @merrillwilliams (below) refuses to raise the salary floor for her own journalists above $42,500 — FAR BELOW a livable wage in DC. cc @JoaquinCastrotx @JulianCastro
