The “TNA #2” talk was a PSYOP started by Fed assets that knew uneducated and unemployed sickos would fall for fall it start focusing more on TNA as competition instead of WWE. Lowered AEWs perception. Worked perfectly

@MikeGilbert311 What many people don't acknowledge is that the same people who were ride or die fed heads in the 2010s and used to mock TNA for *only* drawing a Milly domestic viewers are the same people who became zealous AEW fans a decade later. Bad faith TNA remarks come naturally to them.

@Jeremy_Peeples @MikeGilbert311 Mate I don't really care about the specific ratings but there's a bit of revisionism going on when TNAs entire history (which included substantial global distribution and decent domestic TV ratings) is routinely dismissed as nothing of note and that only AEW counts as a fed alt.

@DDDurango I agree with the writer. Good wrestling has become a sort of ideological battle for people who base their identity on it. cagematch's ability to rank things turns it into a battleground. Everything has to be five stars and people over or under weighting is the norm.

It’s not possible to a lot of these guys that people have watched just as much Barry windham and Tito Santana matches as they have yet still like Eddie Kingston and Chris hero better.
It HAS to be bc they use cage match, only watch modern matches and aren’t being true to the spirit of the project.

The completely unsubstantiated read I have on guys like Goldberg and the ECW crew rising in GWE is that people who are likely to vote are not likely to settle for the neat summations of their work that have long been on offer. You watch the stuff and its uniqueness pops.

I don't say this lightly but the wrestling media landscape desperately needs more people like Mike who cover TNA fairly, the good and the bad.
Fightful have generally been ahead of the pack on this too, but there's too many who play into lazy narratives, for good and bad.
