Playing it a bit more seriously I think this comment perfectly encapsulates what's worrying about these comics. Like... this is just a disastrous relationship, but she sort of laughs it off at the end with "oh self control we ladies have to show". And it's like... no you don't!

No, grad students are not workers. Neither are professors, or writers, or anyone involved in culture. Workers are big burly men who pull levers and eat lunch when the whistle blows. Hope this helps.
