As introverted leaders, we excel at choosing quiet effectiveness over loud visibility. It's time to stop apologising for being nice. Read my full deep-dive on why introversion is a superpower and how to reclaim our niceness: shorturl.at/RU3yN (2/2)

Honesty without niceness is just cruelty. Fake niceness without honesty is just cowardice. Somewhere along the way, we started treating "nice" as a synonym for weak or passive. It’s not. True niceness is brave. It is the gold standard of #QuietLeadership. 🧵 (1/2)

Swearing isn't just verbal venting, it is a proven psychological release valve for high-stress jobs. Read more about Bill Bailey's take on the science of swearing here: shorturl.at/H25sT What are your thoughts on staffroom venting? #EduTwitter #QuietLeadership

I read that comedian @BillBailey champions swearing in his "Remarkable Guide to Happiness." He never swears on stage, but uses it as a wellbeing strategy away from the limelight. Science backs this up: the famous Keele University study shows swearing helps us withstand pain.

Teaching is becoming an almost unmanageable job. Teachers need a safe space to vent, which is why I argued that swearing in the staffroom should actually be encouraged. Read my full piece here: shorturl.at/eIick 👇 Why science agrees.

Constant busyness is Kryptonite for introverted headteachers. 🛑 You don't need to become an extrovert. You need a better strategy. My latest Substack explores how Warren Buffett's principles offer a blueprint for quiet school leaders: exheadteacher.substack.com #QuietLeadership

Another of the 'ways to wellbeing' I write about in my book, 'Quiet Leadership - the power of Introversion in Schools' is finding space. 1/3

To build an unbreakable mindset where staff will run through brick walls for each other, school leaders must: 1️⃣ Ditch micromanagement & trust staff to breathe. 2️⃣ Protect fiercely from outside criticism. 2/3 #EduTwitter #QuietLeadership

“Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.” – Vince Lombardi When pressure hits, do our teams panic or rely on a shared habit of resilience? Winning in education isn't just about exam results, it’s about protecting school culture. 1/3 #EduTwitter #QuietLeadership
