Hello and welcome to my Twitter account. Somehow I have managed to wriggle my way onto your timeline. You can blame the Twitter gods for that, I guess. So about me... My name is Ex. I'm a soon-to-be ex-hotelier and I have many things to share with you.

@RestaurantWill That's true. Even for our hotel, if it rains, then the construction workers staying with us will cancel their plans and leave early.

@RestaurantWill Not, not always. If I were to do that, I'd have no life and spend no time with my family. I feel like balance is key to sustaining a life as a business owner.

@CaseyMericle With the rates as high as they are and sellers as stubborn as they are, still the best time? I wonder if there still a lot of cheap deals around these days.

When front desk agents at my hotel ask the question "are you traveling with any pets today?" to older white couples, they usually answer with: "No. Only my husband/wife. He/she is my pet." 😂Never gets old.

Got pitched on investing in a Forbes 5-diamond level hotel development stabilizing at 50%+ NOI margins that “will be valued at [$2.5MM/key] upon stabilization” As you might expect, I’m somewhat skeptical…

@ConnorAbene Hey Connor. Great thread! Gonna keep this info in mind while growing my business. Just wondering, do you recommend always hiring a BK as opposed to handling it yourself as a smaller operator ($1-2m)?

As a Fractional CFO, I’ve helped 45+ SMBs clean up their finances. Most of them made this ONE obvious, but massive mistake… Here’s what it is and how to avoid it (with my ‘Orders of Operation’ framework):

Hotels mainly sell their rooms. Some higher end hotels have restaurants, bars, meeting room space, etc. But guests spend a significant time inside their rooms. Maybe there's an opportunity to sell besides premium TV channels or better wifi? Any ideas?

@uniquestaysguy I feel your pain as the pool and hot tub are a huge pain point for us too. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be to have multiple properties with pools...

@exhotelier0 I’ve had the most headaches with water features - hot tubs, pool, etc - but they also generate amazing ROI.

@sweatystartup Wow that's actually very impressive given the success you've had. I've always felt that my possessions had to keep up with my position/business just to "look the part" so to speak. Decided to change my mindset and spend on the things that actually bring me happiness.

I live in a house I bought in 2017 for $289k. Living in a house with a $1200 mortgage makes entrepreneurship less stressful.
