I was bullish on McMahon coming into the year. I believed that having time to adjust to being away from Coors and being able to tailor his game to Yankee Stadium would really benefit him. To this point, that hasn't been true, and he hasn't given us a reason to think it will be.

This is brutal. The league has stated the signal for an ABS challenge is a helmet tap. It MUST be a helmet tap. A verbal request is not enough. Yet this umpire still said Baty challenged here even though he clearly didn’t.

My official Spencer Jones prediction/comp is Miguel Sano with fewer walks but also good CF defense.
I think the power could single handedly push him around league average offensive production with a 40% K rate.
A lot of boom or bust talk, but I see a 2-3 WAR player.

I believe the latter, but I do think there's a team out there willing to take a shot at the former if the price is right. I think that disappears if he tanks

I’ll put it out there and I am open to being skewered for it if I’m wrong.
I don’t think Jones walks enough with his level of zone contact to be a good hitter in the big leagues yet. I do not expect this first stint to go well. I believe he needs more time to cook.

I also don't think it's unreasonable to infer that the Yankees' asking price could be too high (and I don't blame them either — if they are wrong, it will look terrible).

@xwOBA_enjoyer @YankeesFiles It's just about the degree of bad here. A 45-50% K rate is likely. I just don't see how he doesn't make the team significantly worse every time he is in the lineup. Cabby is, at best, slightly worse than Volpe (assuming Volpe is actually healthy, which we don't know).
