5th grade has been learning about different inherited and acquired traits you can have during Science. Ms. Kapadia's class was having group brainstorming sessions the other day and then sharing with the rest of the class. Great job, 5th grade!

Ms. Rivero's 1st graders had a great discussion in Social Studies about different foods eaten around the world. Students made connections to pictures in the articles for things they commonly eat in their cultures. Way to go, 1st grade!

Ms. Allen's 4th graders were engaged in partner reading about different bugs eaten in cultures around the world. They are connecting this to their current writing topic convincing someone to eat an unusual food. Nice job, 4th grade!

Our RDR students have been busy this year helping out organizations or staff members they can. From decorating bags for Lunches of Love and helping Ms. Burch prepare for our spring book fair, these students have worked hard running, doing good deeds, and reading. Nice job, RDR!

Congratulations to Max Loi! He raised the most money out of Exley for the Kids Heart Challenge with $697.50. We're so proud of his hard work and dedication and everyone's generosity to a great cause.

The Express Book Stop turns 20 this year!📚📚 Our bookstore was built in 2006 to share a love of reading and provide affordable books for our students. We celebrated by giving away books to Mrs. Vibar’s AM and PM classes, Ms. McDowell’s class, and Ms. Miles’ class. ♥️🖤🚂🖤♥️

Ms. Milner's 2nd graders are learning about conserving and reusing items during Science time. Students gave examples of items from around their home they plan to reuse and conserve. Way to go, 2nd grade!

Ms. Cutbirth's 3rd graders are learning all about the solar system in Science this week. Today, they watched a video on how the moon orbits the sun and took notes. Nice work, 3rd grade!

Exley was 5th place this year for money collection in the Limelight Challenge for the Katy Education Grant Foundation! Our total collected was $2,666.35. We raised $400 more dollars this year than last year! The top 10 get a giant bag of popcorn! Thank you for your support!

Today, @MrsVuTeaches and I wrapped up our second session of the CROSS STITCH CLUB! We toasted with sparkling apple juice, bonded over our projects, and made some memories. So incredibly proud of these kids and this club! #ExleyExpress

Exley is participating in the annual Recycle Bag Drive with our partner, HEB. Students can bring in plastic bags starting next week. We have a chance to win a gift card worth $1,000! The more you donate, the bigger the gift card. So, bring in those bags today!

Congratulations to 3rd graders Emmalyn Moreno and Advay Ghag on earning a Houston Rodeo Art certificate! 3rd graders were able to submit their pieces for judging and winners at each school were recognized by a rodeo committee member. We're so proud of you guys! @RODEOHOUSTON
