@explorer_zedd2 Yes. He did, since AQIS was not radicalized enough. Both AQIS and ISKP acknowledged him and wrote tributes for him in 2020 after he was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan, sometime around 2017.

Podcaster Saad Riaz is not an "Al-Qaeda operative". He is purportedly an Al-Qaeda sympathizer who publicly believes in Al-Qaeda’s ideology. It is common in Pakistan. The Pakistani military had a large number of AQ sympathizers in its ranks, which were purged by General Musharraf. A Pakistani serving Lt Gen went to Afghanistan and joined Al-Qaeda too, before switching to ISKP. I am sure the Pakistani military still has some. Even the current Pakistani military spokesperson, Lt. General Ahmed Chaudhry’s father was an Al-Qaeda sympathizer who went a step further by offering his skills to Al-Qaeda to make lethal weapons. He is now a UN-designated terrorist.
Saad Riaz also worked for a Pakistani military propaganda and disinformation network as a contractor. He likely offended someone from the Pakistani military or its puppet regime. Hence the detention.
They won’t keep him for long. He will be back.

@inside_storiesA What is the actual scene with Haqqani. He was close to t tp hakimullah etc... also with AQ and other Pk TB groups. Simultaneously as you say there was some sort of an understanding between him nd with Pak SFs. He appears to be a real independant boss man.
