In the world of viral monetized disinformation accounts, Israel is always up to something sneaky. It’s not possible they missed a missile strike on Tel Aviv at the start of the war. Or other direct strikes like Dimona or Arad. Or that there were relatively few mass casualty events. If they didn’t see anything, there was a “blackout.” If they see something, the “blackout” must have been lifted, and Israel must have a nefarious reason for doing it. The conspiracy theories spread and the money keeps flowing.

Israeli public support for the war with Iran has held remarkably steady despite nightly missile barrages and endless trips to bomb shelters and safe rooms: Channel 12 (pre-war) ~59%; IDI (Mar 2–3) 82% overall after start of war, 93% among Jewish Israelis; INSS mid–late March ~78–80% (overall Israelis). Stability, not erosion, defines public sentiment - even under extraordinary conditions.

Israel calls on UNICEF to speak out and unequivocally condemn the Iranian regime’s deliberate missile attacks on civilians, including children. Iran is launching ballistic missiles armed with illegal cluster munitions, spreading indiscriminate harm - and children are among the victims. So far, 18 children and infants have been wounded by Iranian missiles. A 5-year-old girl is in critical condition. A 10-year-old and a 12-year-old were severely injured. Three siblings, aged 13, 15, and 16 - were killed.

This story from Turkish propaganda outlet TRT World has gone viral. The IDF says the story is "completely unfounded." A Hamas terrorist approached the Yellow Line holding an "unidentified object"... who later turned out to be a toddler being used as a human shield. The soldiers fired at the roadside to warn the suspect to back away. It is "likely" that "splinters" caused injuries to the suspect and the concealed toddler. The suspect was apprehended and admitted to entering Israeli territory during the October 7 Massacre. The child was placed under the full supervision of an IDF physician until the Red Cross came to pick him up, wrapped in a thermal blanket.

The Iranian regime doesn't realize it has tied its own noose. It's demanding—who does it think it is, to demand?—no restrictions on its ballistic missile program. There is no way the Gulf states can live with an out-of-control ballistic missile program after all this damage.

At this point, I think it's plausible that Democrats lose in 2028 because the establishment and the base are at odds with each other over what has become the key progressive litmus test: the question of America's special relationship to Israel. I really hope that's not the case, but it will be the case if the establishment doesn't start being responsive to rank-and-file Democrats on one of the defining questions of the current era.
