What if you make the algo assign the surrounding position to the nearest point. Rather than randomly?

@eyrox82 Oh, a suggestion to optimize it more would be spatial partitioning, basically a point that's a combination of a group of points, and keep track of which partition each NPC is in, so you only search those points in its partition for the distance check to find the nearest point
