This is not true from a professional standpoint. You cannot judge talent and creativity objectively but you can judge the technical aspects. Fela’s recordings are better because they have better: • Soundstage • Dynamic range • Clarity • Cleaner bass • Deeper bass extension • Lower background noise • Better composition • Lower distortions • Lesser off-key notes • and fuller in the 20 to 20k frequency ranges. I have many of their albums in vinyl, some are original press from back in the day. Kedu America from Osadebe is the only album from Oliver or Osadebe that can compete with Fela’s works in terms of the objective criteria that I listed above. The only Nigerian artist whose works can compete with the works of Fela is Sunny Ade (the greatest Nigerian musical artist of all time by a mile).
