@leonegianmarco @Ngnghm @cmuratori And btw, when I say “more recent”, I mean since around “The early history of Smalltalk”, 1992 or 1993. That is 33 years ago.

@leonegianmarco @Ngnghm @cmuratori Not really. Kay is not redefining OOP. He criticizing its implementation and shortcomings.

I eventually watched the anti-OOP talk by @cmuratori. It was actually about ECS (which is just relational data modeling rehashed), but fails to even identify what OOP is, and thus to criticize it. At best it is a weak criticism of C++, and a bit of Smalltalk.

@Ngnghm @leonegianmarco @cmuratori I'm not sure I understand you. A source for what exactly? I'm not talking about UML and I'm not sure what is “object modelling” to you. For Johnson's quotation one source is web.archive.org/web/2012072501… It has been cited by many including Oscar Nierstrasz and James Noble.

@ezebirman @leonegianmarco @cmuratori Do you have a URL/source for that? Seems interesting. But UML and other "object modeling" is actually relational modeling, nothing to do with any OO language except hype. Message passing is Erlang, also not OO (though you can express it the hard way). Inheritance... is enough
