I wouldn’t go that far personally. Daniel’s character improved from S1 but he still got short changed in terms of the development & material he got to work with. Ray Nadeem was much more developed & fleshed out. That’s the benefit of stronger writers & more episodes in the season

We get one more scene of dex and then nothing for a year, we've only had aura moments, one good conversation that was washed out by mixed flashbacks, inconsistencies with his weapons, no scar, and multiple unanswered questions from season 1
