questions like this miss the point. i will make bitcoin transactions that are good for *me*. i am under zero obligation to only make transactions that are good for *you*. nobody has to justify their consensus-valid bitcoin transactions to anyone else. thats the whole point.

agreed, anyone that thinks core v30 has had 0 effect on the price is burying their heads in the sand, they need to get out of their echo chambers i know some non newb bitcoiners that are making different purchasing decisions because of it. its subtle, it doesn't look like someone selling their entire stack and buying gold, its things like: - buying less than they normally would - finally doing the kitchen reno that they've been meaning to do forever - deciding to finally buy a house - not putting the minimum down payment on the house - having a little extra fiat safety cushion than they normally would - paying down the mortgage a little extra - risking some money on a hot stock - etc...

Fwiw I have a similar sentiment and haven't made a purchase all year. This year is the first year I've ever put extra cash elsewhere and begun rotating out of Bitcoin. Confidence is lost until we can clearly route around compromised developers again. (I say again because we did this before, but the rogue devs were a minority the last time, now they're the majority.) 20% of the overall network switching to Knots is great but it's not nearly enough to mitigate the damage of Core's war on nodes. If only taking into account recently updated nodes, you get something more like a 50/50 Core/Knots split which is honestly amazing - that's raw power from Bitcoiners all over the world. And the plebs run the show *but* - The industry has to follow, and they haven't yet. There isn't a single large pool or exchange I'm aware of that runs Knots or has agitated for a non-Knots solution to the Core problem. There's also some hope that there are many who see what's wrong with Core but aren't prepared to run Knots - they are simply waiting for another real solution which I would champion and support right away.
