The tyres of the MC130J got stuck; the US sent in three other planes and evacuated everyone. The US Air Force then destroyed the abandoned planes and helicopters. All this while assets were engaging Basij and regular units, as well as others who sought to reach the runway and mountain. CIA also spread a rumour that the Americans were moving him by road, leading many to rush to the road location, causing traffic chaos. All this in 48 hours.
