Listening to our patients, really listening, is so utterly vital. Not hearing what fits with our preconceptions or algorithms. They will often tell you what the issue is, or where you need to ask more. It feels like this is being so lost in the quagmire of access and overload.

@CraigNikolic I’ve been lucky that not really a target - but algorithm serves me provocative stuff regardless of my feedback to tailor it & then I get drawn in… so often a ‘me’ problem! Going to take a break; if/when back will have a go at the lock approach too. Been lovely chatting though x

I have lots of plans for 2024, but honestly I think one of the most healthy and important is going to be leaving Twitter. I have 19K posts, including a lot of educational stuff I don’t want to lose but it’s SUCH a time-suck. My willpower is minimal so I’ll keep the account but…

I’m a Paramedic. Today, I’ve fed, watered and toileted patients in the back of a van. I’m in the 14th hour of a 12 hour shift and 9th in the queue at a hospital it takes an hour to drive back from. A job I used to enjoy, I’ve begun to regularly hate.

@Nigemufcok @davekelley85193 @cllr_aston Bizarre that you think an entire profession who spent 5 years at university, 2 yrs foundation + 3 yrs specialist postgrad training actually did all of that… to what, just never use it? Clearly projecting your own standards onto GP’s. Doing nothing all day = right up your street?

@davekelley85193 @Nigemufcok @cllr_aston as consultations tend not to happen in the waiting room when it can be helped, I’d imagine any staff you couldn’t see were actually working behind closed doors. Yes, access & service is horrendous. But not for lack of work from staff. You could always pay ££ to go private 🤷🏼‍♀️

If it was closed, perhaps check out their opening hours/lunch break times… or maybe they’ve shut for good due to no staff. As per the point being made. It would not be open for you to go into but genuinely empty of staff. And…
