At this point I don’t really think there’s anything that they could do to make the experience better for rich sims. You’re probably better off using mods/cc and your own strict set of rules for what you can and cannot do. That said, I’ve had many rich sims and I still have fun.

Even using the Residential Rental system to “own a second home” isn’t that great. You’re not paying taxes in the same way, as it’s a fixed rate of 50 simoleons per unit. It doesn’t really give the feeling of “rich”. You also don’t pay bills for any owned businesses.
