@moniza_hossain It’s fine, I totally have time to cry about this tonight 😭😭😭

✨So thrilled to announce that my debut novel, The Fractured Life of Lucy Hughes, will be published by Lake Union @AmazonPub. I can’t imagine a better home for this story about the choices we regret and the winding paths we take back when we’ve lost our way. Coming Fall 2026.✨

Little did I know a year ago that THIS October would be even better 🎉😭
* There is nothing vague about my relationship a year later, and this might be a vague publishing tweet 👀👀👀
Annie Morgan@annie_m_morgan
October has always been my favorite month, and this one is poised to be my best one yet. 🥰 * This is not a vague publishing tweet. This might be a vague relationship tweet. 😉

@annie_m_morgan More than a little sad that I’m at the 🚍 🚈 ✈️ part of the trip, it was sweet, short as it was 🍁🥰❤️ 7 weeks 4 days and counting 🥲😘
English

Spent our last day together brunching, hiking, and thrifting. Realized only belatedly that we really leaned into those lesbian stereotypes. 😂
7 weeks 4 days until the next visit. 🥰

So not ready for Fall Break to be over. Re-entry to the real world is going to be rough.

@KaitlynAbdou Ooh I love moussaka so much and haven’t had any in years. That look delicious!
English

@Virginia_Brasch @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter I had a lot of fun thinking about it 😊 There’s so much beauty in the world and chemistry is just one of the languages to describe it. Whether it’s fireworks or changing leaves - it’s just one way of finding words to describe what you’re experiencing 😊
English

@fabster_13 @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter I had a feeling that overlap was there but couldn't put it into words. This is so good. Thank you so, so much for this!!!
English

Do I have a twitter mutual who is a chemist that would be willing to answer a couple questions for book things? Super easy questions.
I wrote a character that is smarter than me again and I'm having a struggle
Also cc'ing @BeccaACarter bc she might have a question too😅
English

@Virginia_Brasch @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter And I think there’s a lot of overlap between science and poetry - lots of my colleagues are very artistically inclined. I think there’s a lot of that ‘to see the world in a grain of sand’ in both. That way of looking at the world and making sense of how pieces fit together?
English

@Virginia_Brasch @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter And people really don’t think about how these compounds are made. We walk into a store and buy some ibuprofen or an antacid or antidepressants? These are multi-step chemical syntheses. Making an Ibuprofen is like a 6 step process and then you need to purify and tablet and coat.
English

@Virginia_Brasch @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter I love to cook (and lots of chemists LOVE cooking and are great cooks) and occasionally I will go ‘and now for a delicious Maillard reaction’ and I mean isn’t it amazing how the browning of food when you’re cooking it is a chemical reaction between amino acids and sugars?
English

@Virginia_Brasch @annie_m_morgan @BeccaACarter And that was a big part of it - that curiosity about how things work and chemistry holding a lot of those answers. I’m a biochemist and there’s almost a cognitive dissonance of what we see and observe at a macroscopic level and understanding how that works on a molecular level?
