I love Fire Island so much becuase growing up gay to me just meant failure and giving up, and this place is a refutation of that thinking. Most people here are very successful and intelligent. People leave their doors unlocked and say good morning when they pass each other on the boardwalk. They make dinner for their friends and eat together at sunset. People take care of their bodies, the community and the island. Frankly, most people here have better qualities of life than so many who threw stones at me for being gay. Here being gay means friends and love and fun and jumping in the ocean naked and watching the sunrise and living a full complete life. Love love love this place ❤️🏝️🔥
